Bromazepam, is a benzodiazepine. It has an anxiolytic, sedative and muscle relaxant effect. It belongs to the medium-acting benzodiazepines and has a half-life of 16-24 hours, which may be slightly longer in older people. The effect is at its strongest after about 2 hours and the agent then slowly develops.
Bromazepam is not suitable for children and should only be prescribed to a limited extent in suicidal people. In the event of an overdose, the risk of death is very small. Bromazepam is preferable to other benzodiazepines if the patient is in severe suffering. Bromazepam is chosen especially in clinical application (if someone has been admitted). The general practitioner usually chooses the standard means such as diazepam, oxazepam and alprazolam.
Bromazepam is one of the benzodiazepines. It has a calming, muscle-relaxing effect and reduces anxiety. It is prescribed for feelings of anxiety and tension and social phobia. You will become calmer within 1 hour of intake. This effect lasts longer than about twelve hours. After longer use, there is a chance that you will become addicted to Bromazepam. You will notice withdrawal symptoms when you stop taking, such as anxiety, headache, muscle pain, insomnia, restlessness and irritability. Therefore, do not use Bromazepam for more than a few weeks.
